What a ‘Fantastic’ Lighting Upgrade by Ecovantage

BACKGROUND 

Emerald was thrilled to supply LED lighting products to Ecovantage for their recent major lighting upgrade at Fantastic Furniture. The upgrade will see Fantastic Furniture save $750,000 over the next five years at their Fairfield East Factory, warehouse, and office facility in Sydney. It’s great to see large businesses like Fantastic Furniture stepping up to reduce their energy consumption and improve the lighting levels in their key working areas.

THE UPGRADE 

Ecovantage proposed a comprehensive LED lighting solution throughout the site, including replacing outdated, inefficient 400W metal halide high bay lights, twin 36W fluorescent battens and panels, halogen downlights and CFL PL lamps. These old lights were replaced with a combination of 150W and 85W LED high bays, 25W LED standard and emergency battens and panels, 10W LED shop lights, and 5W LED downlights.

Lights with in-built motion sensors were installed in low occupancy storage areas to dim down lighting until activated by motion – providing additional energy savings. In critical areas some of the high bays were brought down from the high 12 metre ceilings, so they were directly above workstations (e.g. fabric inspection, cutting and sewing areas). Many of the lights were relocated to better align with the aisles between recently installed racking, which also enabled the removal of a number of existing lights that were no longer required.
